Early Morning Fire

Several buildings were affected by an early morning fire that occurred on Thursday 9th January, 2020 at Grenville Street, St. George’s.
 
The fire, which was reported about quarter to five in the morning, left two (2) two-storey concrete and wooden buildings completely destroyed.
The fire also completely destroyed the top floor of a residential home leaving its ground floor (a business place) partially destroyed.
 
At least two other business places were also affected by the fire and include a doctor’s office where the ground and first floor of its four-storey concrete building were completely destroyed.  
 
Two vehicles that were parked in the vicinity at the time of the fire sustained heat damages while two other business places on the opposite side sustained heat as well as structural damages.
 
The cause of fire remains under investigations. There was no reported injury or loss of life.
