Man Charged with Defrauding Woman

A St. George resident who has been charged by police with Fraud by False Pretense and Money Laundering has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison after failing to post bail.
 
The charges were laid against Jude Sylvester Joseph of Mt. Rush, St. George after he allegedly bilked a woman of approximately seventy-one thousand dollars in cash between January 1st 2019 and September 30th 2019.  He was taken into police custody and charged on January 9th 2020.
 
Joseph appeared at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court on Friday 10th January, 2020 and was granted bail in the sum of one hundred thousand dollars with two sureties but failed to post bail.
He will reappear in Court on January 27th 2020.
