Telescope Man on Money Laundering Charge; Teenager Charged for Possession of Firearm

A resident of Telescope, St. Andrew, was arrested by officers of the Drug Squad Unit, after an operation conducted on Monday 23rd November 2020, revealed a quantity of cash inside his house.  The cash totaled eighteen thousand, six hundred and fifty Eastern Caribbean Currency dollars ($18,650.00) and sixty United States Dollars ($60.00).

 

Akim Williams, was charged for the offence of Money Laundering and appeared at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court, on Friday 27th November, 2020, where he was granted bail in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) with two (2) sureties.  As part of his bail conditions, Williams has to surrender all travel documents and also report to the Grenville Police Station once weekly.  He will reappear in court on January 29, 2021. 

 

In an unrelated matter, a 15 year old student of Mt. Horne, St. Andrew, was remanded to the Grand Bacolet Juvenile Center today (27.11.2020), after he was arrested and charged for having in his possession a pellet gun on a school’s compound.  He is scheduled to return to court on December 4th, 2020.
