On Friday July 2nd, 2021, officers attached to the Rapid Response Unit were on patrol duty when they attempted to conduct a search on a suspect, who later threw away a bag he was carrying and fled the scene. A search of the bag revealed a .380 Pistol along with one (1) round of ammunition.
On Saturday 3rd July, 2021, the accused man, Lawrence Hinds, a 32 year old resident of Grand Mal, St. George, was apprehended and charged for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.
Hinds was granted bail in the amount of ten thousand dollars with one surety and will appear in court on August 30th, 2021.
