The department is comprised of four functional units, namely: Community Relations, Internal Investigations, Research and Development, and Audit and Inspection.
Mandate:
Functions of the Community Relations department are -

Public relations (including the dissemination of information to the Media)

Developing programs to strengthen police and public relationship

Public education on crime prevention, safety measures and other police issues

Promotion of Force Image and publicity for police programs and initiatives

Liaison with community oriented organizations and schools

Managing and Coordination of community officers and community programs

Working with Juveniles

Conducting force wide audit and inspections of processes and standards
Internal Investigations:
Officer in charge: Inspector of Police Errolyn Garraway
Responsibilities:

Prompt and impartial Investigations of complaints against police officers made by members of the public and other internal investigations
Audit Department:
Officer in charge: Assistant Superintendent of Police Locksley John
Responsibilities:

Review of the RGPF’s standing operating procedures and provision of recommendations for improvement

Monitoring and evaluating compliance with organizational policies and standard operating procedures and reporting on non-compliance

Submission of audit reports
Research and Development:

Research and proposal of standards, policies, and protocols geared towards organizational development.
