Woman Superintendent of Police Lynda Mary Francis was enlisted in the Royal Grenada Police Force on October 14, 1985. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the St. George’s University, an Associate Degree in Social Work from the T.A. Marryshow Community College and a Certificate in Public Administration from the University of the West Indies.
She is currently the highest ranking female officer in the Royal Grenada Police Force and heads the Northern Division which serves Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
During her entire tenure of thirty-four (34) plus years’ service in the RGPF, twenty-eight (28) and a half years were spent at the Immigration and Passport Office mostly as a supervisor at the Maurice Bishop International Airport.
In 2014, she transitioned into operational policing with posting at the Central Division where she served at the supervisory level at Central Police Station and later South St. George Police Station. She then moved on to command the operations at the St. David’s Police Station, Eastern Division, on the 24th of September, 2018.
Superintendent Francis is the recipient of three major Organization awards, including the prestigious Woman Police of the Year, which she copped in succession in 1995 and 1996, and the RGPF Award for Bravery in 2004.
She is an active member of the RGPF’s Women’s Arm. She has strong religious beliefs, and credits her successes to persistence.
