A St. George resident who has been charged by police with Fraud by False Pretense and Money Laundering has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison after failing to post bail. The charges were laid against Jude Sylvester Joseph of Mt. Rush, St. George after he allegedly bilked a woman of approximately seventy-one thousand dollars in cash between January 1st 2019 and September 30th 2019. Police are investigating two separate structural fires that occurred on Saturday 11th January, 2020. At Moliniere (St. George), an early morning fire completely destroyed the second floor of a two-storey dwelling house while an afternoon fire that occurred at Williamson Road, St. George’s left two houses completely destroyed; another with partial damages and one other with minor heat damages. Vita Paul, 92 years, an occupant of one the affected houses who had to be taken to the General Hospital was later pronounced dead. An autopsy is pending to determine the actual cause of death.
